Luau party supplies can be found at most party stores and on the Internet. But if you don?t find what you need here, you can look around flea markets and curio stores to find tropical motifs.

For planning and decorating, you will need to buy invitation cards (if you are not making your own), placement cards, straws, Hawaiian music, leis, candles. Tiki torches, Hula dolls, paper lanterns, large candles, bamboo baskets, plastic flowers and fresh flowers will give an authentic atmosphere. You can buy shells, fruits, sunglasses, decorative hair combs, fruit and large stuffed parrots and flamingos too. For costumes, think about using coconut shells to make bras and straw to make skirts. It is fun to get the guys wear these to and do the Hula!

Most gift shops stock Luau decorations, invitations, tableware, Hawaiian gifts, and more. Plates and glasses with tropical patterns and color will add to the ambience. Tropical straws, stirrers and tiny umbrellas to dress up your glasses, and plastic flowers to decorate the room are all easy to find if one starts hunting for them early enough.

Keep in mind that one should not just throw all these ingredients into the party and hope it hangs together well. One should coordinate colors so that the various elements do not clash. One should think as big as possible, but don’t turn the party into a cliche with careless inclusion of every Luau-related item you can possibly buy. The guests will appreciate your ability to make these types of choices.

Luau provides detailed information on luau, luau decorations, luau invitations, luau music and more. Luau is affiliated with Bora Bora Weather.

I am firmly convinced the country of India was transplanted from another planet. You will find no other place like it on this world.

India

India is a country where you will see everything you can imagine. More importantly, everything you will see will be intense. You will not see a beggar, you will see millions of them. You will not see a beautiful beach, you will see the most beautiful beaches in the world. Places of wealth are so over the top you?ll be stunned. The shanty towns of the poor, on the other hand, will set you back on your heals.

India is the one place you can visit and come away completely enthralled and disgusted at the same time. If your idea of traveling is sitting in a posh hotel, India has such resorts but you?ll be unable to avoid the less attractive areas. If you prefer to get out and take in a culture that is completely alien to your own, you will never find a better place than India.

India is really a number of countries within a political boundary. The south of India is entirely different than the north. The same goes for the east and west. If you don?t like the place you?re in, just get on a train for a day or two and you?ll be in a completely different world.

One of the biggest traveler complaints about India is the poverty. In truth, it is bad. There is simply no way around the fact. Whatever you have previously seen, wherever you have previously gone, nothing matches the poverty in India. The shanty towns are large cities and the conditions are less than ideal. To get a first hand account, I suggest you read the excellent book, ?Shantaram?, by Gregory David Roberts. Roberts lived in one of the shanty towns for years while on the run from the law. The book is tremendous and gives you a different perspective on the poverty situation. Regardless, you will have problems dealing with the poverty in India. It can ruin your trip if you?re not careful.

If you?re considering visiting India, you need to accept the fact that life is different there and you need to come to grips with this before you go. In truth, India is an incredibly captivating country of beauty, stunning sites and incredibly funny people.

Gentle giants, the rare and endangered Galapagos Tortoises are the largest tortoise species in the world. Spotted by Bishop Tomas de Berlanga, when he discovered the Galapagos Islands by accident in 1535, these islands were named after them. Galapago which means ?saddle? in Spanish refers to the tortoise?s saddle-shaped shell.

Growing over four feet in length and weighing in at roughly 500 pounds, these huge vertebrates have an impressive lifespan. The oldest Galapagos Tortoise was said to have lived for 152 years. However, the exact lifespan of these huge reptiles is yet to be determined as they have not been observed long enough. Another interesting fact about the Galapagos Tortoise is that they keep on growing for 30 to 40 years before they reach adulthood.

A strong population of over 250,000 in the early 19th century, today there are between 10,000 to 15,000 Galapagos Tortoises left in the wild. Innocent victims of poachers, these endemic tortoises have also been captured and killed by sailors and pirates for their meat. Another reason for a dwindling tortoise population has been attributed to the introduction of new mammal species on the islands such as goats, pigs and dogs, which step on or eat tortoise eggs, or feed off the same vegetation as tortoises do, thus causing food scarcity.

Having been reduced to near extinction, presently just 11 of the 15 tortoise subspecies exist in the Galapagos today. And while research has shown a likelihood of just 13 subspecies, many scientists believe that there were 15 Galapagos Tortoise species in total. Five subspecies of tortoises can be found on Isla Isabela, while the other six can be found on the islands of Espa?ola, Pinz?n, Pinta, San Crist?bal, Santiago and Santa Cruz. It is more than likely that the tortoise subspecies on Isla Pinta will die out soon as only one male tortoise remains. Lonesome George, as he is affectionately known, is the last of the Pinta tortoises. He is currently being kept at the Charles Darwin Research Station on Isla Santa Cruz in an effort to help him mate. However, so far all attempts have been unsuccessful.

While there are different subspecies of Galapagos Tortoises, there are also different types as well. Differentiated by their size, color and the shape of their shells, one can spot three different kinds of Galapagos Tortoises. Dome-shaped tortoises have shorts limbs and necks, while their shell have a round or dome shape. Saddle-backed tortoises on the other hand have longer limbs and necks with a raised shell. The third tortoise type is known as an intermediate tortoise and is a mix between a saddle-backed and dome-shaped tortoise.

Living on a diet of fruits, cacti, grasses and vegetables, Galapagos Tortoises are herbivores. They are able to store water and food in their bodies letting them live for up to a year before they eat or drink again. Mostly found in elevated areas where the humidity is higher and there are grassy fields, many subspecies of tortoises also live on dry hotter islands where grass is sparse. Playful by nature, these cold-blooded reptiles spend much of their day basking in the sun, while at night they rest half submerged in either mud or water to stay warm.

Incredible creatures, the Galapagos Tortoises today have played a key role in helping us understand how our world has evolved. Capturing the hearts and minds of all those who visit here, these gentle playful creatures should be taken care of so as to preserve them for all future generations to enjoy.

New Zealand?s national carrier is Air New Zealand and is the main way of travelling by air throughout New Zealand. New Zealand?s next major carrier is Qantas, the Australian national carrier. There are other main players in the competitive trans-Tasman market (the market between New Zealand and Australia that crosses the Tasman Sea) they include Jetstar, Virgin Pacific, Freedom and Emirates.

Virgin, Jetstar and Freedom are the budget airlines. Jetstar is a company that is owned mainly by Qantas and Freedom is mainly owned by Air New Zealand. These three airlines are the airlines you would concentrate your search for cheap New Zealand to Australia airfares, but sometimes the major players offer better deals so don?t think that because they are budget they are the cheapest. These airlines keep the prices competitive so you as the traveller will get some great deals if you ?shop around?.

New Zealand also has many small airlines to enable you to see some of the wonders of New Zealand including Origin Pacific and other scenic flight airlines from the smaller towns and cities. Safety standards in airports and on airlines that travel the New Zealand skies are among the highest in the world, with strict air safety regulations. When you arrive in New Zealand there are strict rules and instant fines for bringing undeclared food items or anything that could effect the delicate New Zealand environment and bio-security of the country.

Most airlines leaving from New Zealand airports are also not as strict with the check in times as other countries with higher international safety concerns. Have fun flying the New Zealand skies. You will enjoy the friendliness of New Zealand airline staff and the service that you will receive.

The Costa del Sol is one of Europe’s top golf destinations attracting vast numbers of golfers from all over Europe. With Malaga Airport serving as a gateway to over 60 courses which lie within an hour’s drive away the popularity of the so called ‘Costa del Golf’ has never been greater.

Most arrivals are from northern Europe who make the most of the age of the budget airline and head down to the south of Spain for a few days where they rent a car and play several courses over a few days before heading home. With over 300 days of sunshine a year this short golfing break is a year round option. In fact with the oppressive heat of the peak summer months it is now most common to select off season golf holidays when flights are cheap and there are plenty good deals on accommodation ranging from luxury villas to self-catering apartments.

Golfers of all abilities will find Costa del Sol Golf Courses to suit them ranging from straightforward 9 hole courses where you can arrange to have lessons with the resident professional to the daunting Valderrama course which was home to the Ryder Cup in 1997 and now hosts the annual Volvo Masters.

There are courses east of Malaga with several new ones being constructed so if you’re heading to the Nerja area for your holidays you’ll never be far away from a course. However, if you’re coming out specifically for a golf holiday then you really ought to head west of Malaga where you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Deciding on where to stay for your golfing holiday is not a simple decision. First stop as you head west from Malaga is Torremolinos. Forty years ago Torremolinos was a quaint fishing village but then tourism arrived and it expanded in all directions to reach concrete jungle proportions. It has fine beaches and great range of accommodation so it works well as a family holiday location from where dad can escape for a few rounds of golf during the week or two that you’re there.

Benalmadena is the next resort along with all the same facilities as its neighbour but with the added advantage of a great marina area with a selection of good restaurants and bars to help you enjoy the evenings. Fuengirola is probably the most Spanish of these three neighbouring resorts, all of which provide easy access to inland courses.

The nature of Costa del Sol tourism goes increasingly upmarket as you head further west with Marbella still a popular destination with that reputation for better class tourism. Here you’ll find many exclusive private villas and apartments for rent as well as more affordable self catering options. Puerto Banus is the playground of the rich and famous where an evening is well spent wandering around the multi million dollar yachts anchored next to playboy Ferraris and Mercedes’ with Arabic number plates.

Estepona is a popular Spanish resort further west on the way to Sotogrande which is just over the provincial border in Cadiz and home to the great Valderrama course as well as Sotogrande and San Roque which are also very challenging.

As director and webmaster of Spanish-Fiestas.com, I’ve been travelling around Spain for many years for business and leisure. The insider knowledge gained has enabled me to put together one of the internet’s most comprehensive Spain travel websites. This article comes from our Costa del Sol travel guide. Hope you find it useful.

The first tourists who occupied riverside houses as far back as the 1800s experienced this ultimate relaxation. Situated in Pennsylvania, getting there is quite easy since it’s accessible from major cities like New York, New Jersey, Boston and Philadelphia.

From hopeless romantics, to retirees, family and friends, those who visit the Poconos will agree that it is habit forming. The woodlands and mountains which frame picturesque lakes, rivers and enticing waterfalls as you drive by, seem to serve as the perfect welcome mat for all the fun which lies ahead.

Lovers of the sea won’t get enough of canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing, fishing and rafting, Poconos-style. And if you feel at one with nature, you can hike on one of the challenging trails or experience dirt/ mountain biking.

There are over 30 state and national parks to visit and golf can be enjoyed at one of the 60-plus locations. Take a walk down memory lane by visiting historical museums and parks and even preserve a picture of some of the Poconos’ historical railroads for posterity. The Poconos are the home of quaint galleries, NASCAR racing, outlet shopping and hitting the slopes for some intense skiing action.

Skiing is no doubt synonymous with the Poconos. In 1946, Big Boulder became the first commercial ski area opened in Pennsylvania. Ten years later, the process of man-made snow was patented, perfected and the Pocono Mountains were introduced as a ski destination in the Big Boulder Ski area. Some of the hot skiing spots during winter include Alpine Mountain, Shawnee, Blue Mountain, Camelback and Jack Frost to name a few, with over 20 trails to choose from.

Poconos Info provides detailed information about the Poconos mountains, vacations, resorts, real estate, hotels, and honeymoons. Poconos Info is the sister site of Steamboat Springs Web.

Portugal is a European country situated on the Iberian Peninsula in the southwest corner of Europe. The west and south of Portugal are cornered by the Atlantic Ocean, giving it some of the most dramatic coastline in Europe.

Portugal borders only one country, Spain, which makes up the rest of the Iberian Peninsula.

With a coastline running over 500 miles Portugal is bursting with scenic sandy coves and rocky cliffs with a dramatic inland landscape.

Portugal is a very pleasant country to visit - especially for any person in love with seafood. All along the coast are amazing restaurants dedicated to cooking fresh fish. Most restaurants are reasonable priced with generous portions. When you are having food in Portugal don?t forget to sample the excellent local wine. While Portugal is noted for Port, excellent wines are home grown in regions north of Porto and Lisbon.

If you are in some of the more popular tourist spots it?s wise to make a reservation. It?s also standard practice in Portugal to add a 5 - 10 percent tip for waiters who are poorly paid.

English is widely spoken throughout Portugal and the locals are extremely friendly. A large selection of English-written newspapers can be bought in most of the larger newsagents.

Portugal is a country rich in arts and history. The architecture of Portugal differs from region to region. The Romans were the first to leave behind their enhanced structural design. Muslim invaders from North Africa during the eight-century have also enriched the architecture in southern Portugal. Portugal is littered with incredible Churches, temples and old buildings. Some old buildings are restored and turned into great hotels.

Hotels in Portugal are plentiful in tourist areas and cities, but in the countryside they can be rare. If you are travelling through the Portuguese countryside plan your journey well in advance.

Sporting holidays can be had at any time of year. While the Portuguese are mainly into football, most marina sports can be sought along the entire coastline. If you are looking for a golfing holiday Portugal should be top of the list. Most of the best golf courses in Portugal are found in the Algarve region, which has a reputation as one of Europe?s top golfing destinations.

The Algarve region of Portugal, situated in the south of the country, is the perfect spot to visit at any time of year. Its climate stays warm all year round and the scenic coastline offers a large variety of marine activity.

Fishing is a valuable way of life for many in Portugal. Each year during the month of August a massive seafood festival is hosted by one of the ports in the Algarve.

If you are looking for a really special place to visit - try some of the Islands along the Portuguese coast. The Azores lie 800 miles west of Portugal in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Known for the peaceful way of life, the Azores volcanic history has left a truly magical landscape. With easy access from mainland Portugal, the Azores are well worth a visit.
